NCR COMTEN PROJECT <br /> UNDER CONSTRUCTION <br /> FALL 1987 COMPLETION EXPECTED <br /> <br />Blaine, MN -- On November 20, 1986, NCR Comten, <br />Inc., held a ground brea~ng ceremony for the <br />$12 million, 268,000 Square foot facility to be built on <br />a 60 acre site in the Pheasant Ridge Industrial Park in <br />Blaine. <br /> <br />The facility, now under construction, will house <br />approximately 750 employees, and is the first building <br />to locate within the new 660 acre Pheasant Ridge <br />Industrial Park. The park is located at the intersection <br />of Lexington Avenue and interstate 35W, 11.5 miles <br />from NCR Comten's Roseville Headquarters Building: <br />The facility will be the largest building and employer m <br />Blaine. <br /> <br />"NCR Comten chose the Blaine site over others <br />because it allows room for future expansion and it <br />provides good access to the freeway from the homes <br />of many of our employees," said NCR Comten <br />President Bill Gotschall. Mr. Gotschall was also <br />impressed with the site at Pheasant Ridge because it <br />will provide an aesthetically favorable environment. <br /> <br />"NCR Comten is an important anchor to Blaine's <br /> new Pheasant Ridge Industrial Park and we are <br /> confident that this project will have a positive impact <br /> on new development in the area." <br /> --Ron Henrickson, Economic DevelopmenffHRA <br /> Administrator who orchestrated the Blaine effort. <br /> <br /> MINNESOTA MEDICAL <br /> ENTERPRISE PARK BREAKS <br /> GROUND IN COON RAPIDS <br /> TIlE NATION'S FIRST MEDICAL <br /> INDUSTRIAL PARK <br />Coon Rapids, MN -- On September 17, 1986," <br />Governor Rudy Perpich announced the development <br />of the MinnesSta M'edical Enterprise Park (MMEP), <br />the nation's f~rst industrial park devoted exclusively to <br />medical products companies and their suppliers. The <br />$100 million MMEP will be located on a 110 acre <br />master-planned site adjacent to the new Interstate 610 <br />in the City of Coon Rapids. <br /> <br />Construction is already underway on the centerpiece of <br />the MMEP, the four-building Minnesota Medical <br />Enterprise Center. The enterprise center is a unique. <br />incubator (growth center) that will provide developing <br />companies with specialized research and support <br />services. Also under construction is a 72,000 square <br />foot multi-tenant building desired exclusively for <br />smaller established medical companies. Two more <br />buildings are planned for 1987 including a 22,000 <br />square foot sterilization building. <br /> <br /> Medical Park continued... <br />In addition to nurturing developing companies, the <br />MMEP will provide an ideal site for the headquarters <br />of mature bio-medical companies and immediate access <br />to suppliers of custom-made product components such <br />as circuit boards and pacemaker leads, and provide the <br />synergistic effect of wor~ng with similiar companies <br />m a park setting.
