COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PAGE <br /> <br />ANDOVER <br />Elementary School - The city council has passed a resolution <br />confirming their agreement that the city property south of city <br />ball should be the site location for a new elementary school. <br />Oak Bluff - The city council will make a decision to a time <br />frame for the recently platted Oak Bluff area to be placed on the <br />expanded urban service boundary. <br />Water and Sewer is being extended to the Hills of Bunker <br />Lake, a proposed 507 lot housing subdivision located at the <br />intersection of Hanson and Bunker Lake. <br />A tax increment financing and redevelopment district has <br />been established in the south central area of the city near the <br />intersection of Hanson and Bunker Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />ANOKA <br />Cutter's Grove ~ is a 236 unit-six building, planned unit <br />development at Park S~'eet and Highway 10. This is the first <br />phase of a residential/commercial project to be named Cutter's <br />Grove. Construction is expected this spring. The second phase <br />consists of building a 130,000 square foot shopping center. <br />Dellwood Apartments - is a 132 unit apartment complex <br />currently under construction on East River Road. It is being <br />built by Dellwood Construction. <br />Walker Methodist - is a 45 unit, six story senior housing <br />project under construction at the southeast comer of Main and <br />Ferry Street~ It is a Section 202 federal rent subsidy project. <br />Monroe Place - is a 36 unit apartment complex currently <br />under construction at 7th Avenue and Monroe Stxeet. It is being <br />built by Cyril Dehn and James Neiison. <br />Also under construction is a 30 unit apartment complex on <br />Wingfield Street being built by Engels Construction and a 14 <br />unit apartment building at the intersection of Ferry Street and <br />Maple Lane by Eugene Brown. <br /> <br />BLAINE <br />Orbex Inc. - is now building a 30,000 square foot warehouse/ <br />manufacturing facility on Ball Road. <br />Arrow Sprinkler - has recently constructed a 13,000 square <br />foot office/warehouse on 93rd Lane. <br />Raintree prOperties - is completing the second phase of its <br />23,000 square foot office complex at 11919 Central Avenue. <br />MGM Liquor - has completed its 10,400 square foot retail <br />establishment on Washington and Highway 10. <br />Sunrise Plastics - is constructing a 22,689 square foot <br />industrial building at Goodhue Lane and 99th Lane. <br />Betterly Building - an industrial building currently under <br />construction at 11160 Highway 65 NE. <br />PDI - a 25,000 square foot industrial building has been recently <br />completed at 3760 Flowerfield Road. <br />Blaine Medical Center - a 9,900 square foot addition <br />currently under construction at 12175 Aberdeen Street. <br />Oak Park Plaza - a $350,000 redevelopment project sponsored <br />by the City and Jackson Scott Inc. has recently been completed. <br /> <br /> Blaine continued... <br />Rainbow Foods - currently under construction is a 7,500 <br />square foot addition to the Northgate Mall. <br />Nordic Insulation - construction has begun on a 13,200 <br />square foot industrial building at 93rd Lane and Davenport Street. <br />Erickson's Meadows - a 67 unit housing subdivision has <br />recently gained city approval for i31st Lane and Radisson. <br />Ro~land's Shady Oaks - is a 65 unit housing subdivision <br />at 130th Avenue and Radisson and has also recently gained city <br />approval. <br />Also under construction is a 15,000 square foot industrial <br />builiding by John Schulfies at 1521 94th Lane. <br /> <br />t ENTERVILLE <br />Residential - the city is exploring the possibility of creating <br />new residential plats and is expected to make a decision early this <br />year. <br /> <br />CIRCLE PINES <br />Strategic Planning - The city council will be setting up a <br />strategic planning session early this year to determine the issues <br />facing Circle Pines in the next five to ten years. <br />D. Erickson 3rd Addition - will be the city's last residential <br />development. This sub6ivision consists of 85 units and will be <br />located on County Road J. <br /> <br />( OLI, JMBIA HEIGHTS <br />Columbia Park Clinic - a 37,000 square foot medical <br />facility opened its doors on December 15, 1987. The clinic is <br />located at the intersection of 40th and Central. <br />Mortgage Allocation - The city has obtained a single family <br />mortgage bond allocation for fa'st time home buyers through the <br />Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. The city received $10 <br />million in allocation to finance a mortgage pro,am for fa'st <br />time home buyers subject to certain income and price <br />limitations. Columbia Heights was one of only three cities in <br />the state to receive an allocation. <br />Sullivan Lake - The city has entered into exclusive <br />negotiations with Rottlund Companies for the development of <br />60 townhouse units on the northwest shore of Sullivan Lake. <br />Sale prices are expected to range from $90,000 to $130,000. <br /> <br />COON RAPIDS <br />Lurid Investments - purchased approximately four acres of <br />land at the intersection of Evergreen and 90th Avenue. <br />Consumction of a 50,000 square foot office/manufacturing <br />facility will be ready for occupancy in the spring. <br />Erickson Metal - pumhased approximately three acres at the <br />intersection of Evergreen and 93rd Avenue. Construction of a <br />25,000 square foot manufacturing facility was completed in early <br />1987. <br />Air-Mo Hydraulics - is near closing on the purchase of a <br />parcel of land at Evergreen Boulevard and North Crosstown 610 <br />for a 10,000 square foot building. <br /> <br /> <br />
