Commissioner Van Scov asked what the res~ of the lot looks like. <br />Mr. Loabnch stated it is a vacant lot. with a bi~, part of it sand. <br />Associate Planner Wald added the lot ~s in a natural s~ate. <br /> <br /> Mr. Loabnch indicated looking at the buildings around them they.have a tremendous amount of <br /> outside storage. He stated they have only three railroad containers with two sliding doors that <br /> lock, and thev are ve,w. clean for construction trailers. - ': ". <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson indicated they all a~ee the other property should be cleaned up. <br />stated they are struggling with the fact that if this we~-e going to be.permanent it would require a <br />sig'nificant investment, He indicated Mr, Loabncl~ .iS saying he wants'to use it for four years with <br />no improvements, and they are trying to balance the concerns. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald asked if the Planning Commission would consider approving a two year <br />interim use pen:nit with a possible extension. <br /> <br />,Mr. Loabnch indicated when they bou~qt the property they brought in a.'dumpster to clean it up. <br />He stated they do not operate their business to throw garage. ".:. - <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt stated he wants it clear this is for a non-staffed storage facility only accessed as <br />in,ess/egress to access trailers stored ·there. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jeffi'ev asked about the hazardous waste comment. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald indicated there is no hazardous waste on site. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scov added that is addressed in//14 of the Findings of Fact. He asked if <br />there was .any requirement for maintenance of the lot. He wondered if they just allow the weeds <br />to ~ow orif'thev ha~e to be cut' -'"-' <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald advised that usually when a lot is left in irs natural stated they do not put <br />requirements on maintenance. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt added ff the lot was not being used it would still be in its natural stated. He <br />indicated he could support a two-year interim use pen'niT and if they come m for an extension it is <br />with a set e×/,t strategy. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt. seconded by Commissioner Johnson to recommend City Council <br />adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant retatin~ to an interim use pen'nit request for <br />.outdoor storage as a principal use on the subject property. <br /> <br />iVloti'on camed.
