out of the area ~atel¥. <br /> <br />Mr. Wrench - Inquired as to the policy re]arding haulirg on windy days. <br /> <br />Chaiman Peterson - Peplied that hauling on windy days would be addressed <br />in the conditional use pemit. <br /> <br />Mr. Shapell - Stated that he didn't believe that residents in Elk River, <br />Sherhuzne County, were notified and that they would probehly have concerns <br />because they would also have to look at the excavation. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson commented that the City of Elk River had been notified of <br />the proposed project. <br /> <br />Sandy Shapell - 9325 164th Lane - Inquired whether fencing would be <br />required around the excavated areas to prevent access by children and 3- <br />wheelers. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck replied that Northfork would obviously have a liability for the <br />creation of the lake; fencing may not be reasonable, but berming may be <br />possible. The area would definitely be posted with signs. Mr. Peck also <br />commented that the City would require slopes not to ex_oecd oertain limits. <br /> <br />David Pavelik - 8551 156th Lane - Inquired as to the long tern effect of <br />the lake and if it would {_ .mpact Lake Itasca. <br /> <br />Mr. Pehbein - Peplted that the manmade lake would be separate from Lake <br />Itasca. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck - Oamnented that there is an overall storm water drainage plan <br />that the City is in the process of adopting. If the -~nmade lake reaches a <br />certain level, the overflow will drain into Lake Itasca; Lake Itasca <br />overflow will drain south towards Hwy. 10. <br /> <br />David Pavelik - Inquired if iow lying areas to the east would be developed. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck - Beplied that 35 acres has ~cn deeded to the City as park land; <br />no other develounent is proposed on the east side of Lake Itasca. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by C(munissioner Howell to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
