f~nfirma~i~n Of Cc~pnts Submitted At January 14. 1987 Metro <br /> Council P~bltc R~arina Re~ardina ElS For I~dfill Vertica~ <br /> <br />Mr. liartley submitted a written version of testimony submitted at the <br />January 14, 1987 Metro Council public hearing regarding the scope of the <br />EIS for vertical expansion of the landfill. Mr. ~artley recommended that <br />Council formally approve the written testimony for submission to Metro <br />Council by January 28, 1987. <br /> <br />Councilm~ber Cox stated that he wants Ramsey to have jurisdiciton over all <br />decisions that are made with respect to the landfill; he would like more <br />time to review the testimony. <br /> <br />Mr. ~artley stated that the testimony states that landfill expansion should <br />require a oonditional use permit, excavation and environmental permit from <br />the city. In addition, the landfill operators would have to get a <br />construction permit from the Federal Aviation Administration to be <br />encroaching Gateway North airspace. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann suggested approving the testimony at this time and any <br />concerns regarding the testimony should be brought to Mr. Itartley's <br />attention early January 28. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmsmber Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Pearson <br />to approve and confirm the written version of testimony submitted at the <br />January 14, 1987 Metro Council public hearing regarding the scope of the <br />EIS for vertical expansion of the landfill. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox <br />and Pearson. Voting No: None. Abstain: Councilmember DeLuca. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />a) 'X' Rated Videos - <br /> <br />Councilmanber DeLuca stated that he received a call from a resident of 7530 <br />151st Avenue N.W. expressing concern for children being exposed to 'X' <br />rated videos available for rent at area convenience stores (Tom Thumb, <br />Video IV, Chips on 10). The resident requested that Council consider <br />establishing an ordinanoe prohibiting the display and rent of 'X' rated <br />videos in convenience stores. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that he will research the manner in which 'X' <br />rated videos are being displayed and rented and report back to Council. <br /> <br />Zoning Complaints In The Vicinity Of Whispering Pines #4: <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that the status of a blight situation in Whispering <br />Pines is that a formal cc~aint has been signed and is being processed <br />through the legal processes. <br /> <br />b) Job Descriptions and Performance Evaluations - <br /> <br />Page 24 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
