STAFF REPORT Hay 25, 198& MINUTES OF THE MAY 21 QUAD CITIES RECREATIONAL BOARD MEETING HELD AT J.R. 'S RESTAURANT - 6:30 P.M. Members Present: Dennis Donovan Ramsey Parks & Rec. Adv. Board 3035 Sprague Anoka, Mn. 55303 Butch Brandenburg Superintendent, Parks, Recreation and Maintenance 2015 1st Avenue Anoka, }~. 55303 The purpose of this last Quad Cities meeting was to review the comments offered by each respective governmental agency concerning the position statement drafted by the Quad Cities Recreation Advisory Committee.on April 16, 1984. Butch Brandenburg had available for the review of the Quad Cities mem- bers the regular meeting minutes of the Anoka City Council held in the Council Chambers of the City Mall building on May 4, 1984. (See attach- ment A). Merle Prochniak handed out information which he had put together and forwarded to the City Council, engineers and other Parks and Recrea- tion Commission members. (See attachment B). Me also informed the Board that he will continue the process of gathering information and materials to compute the number of Andover participants in different recreational programs from other communities such as Ham Lake, Coon Rapids and Blaine. Upon further discussion, Mr. Prochniak handed out the minutes of the first proposed meeting for the formation of the Andover Athletic and Recreation Association. Members commented on the tremendous job Mr. Prochniak has done in gathering this data and being the first one from Andover to actually follow through with the prepara- tion of the facts regarding facilities and the use demands by Andover residents and also in attempting to establish an Andover Athletic and Recreation Association.
