PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the <br />Ratnsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Todd Cook <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:02 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />~',{011C. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, that the agenda be <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman, Councilmembers Pearson and Kurak. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Introduction of an Ordinance Authorizing a Salary Increase for the Mayor <br />and Council Members <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed explained that in response to a request by members of the City <br />Council, at the May 18, 2004 Work Session, the Assistant City Administrator presented <br />information regarding current compensation for mayors and council members in other cities. It <br />was the consensus of the City Council that staff should bring back an ordinance proposing a <br />salary increase for the mayor and council members in the amounts of $10,000 and $6,000 <br />respectively. Section 2.7 (Salaries) of the City Charter states that "The mayor and <br />councilmembers shall receive such compensation as is fixed by the council in accordance with <br />state statutes. Any increases in such compensation shall not become effective until after the next <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/June 22, 2004 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
