Mayor Strommen asked, and received confirmation, that the Council was comfortable discussing <br />this matter in open session. <br />Councilmember Williams stated that the EDA reviewed the purchase agreement at length and <br />continues to support this project. She stated that she is very excited about this project and type <br />of industrial use in the community. She stated that this structure for the deal can also set up the <br />community for being successful in future arrangements. <br />Councilmember LeTourneau stated that one of the drivers of development is tax base and asked <br />for information on the tax base this project would create. <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Brama stated that at full build out <br />this development would generate $250,000 in taxes. <br />Councilmember LeTourneau stated that the tax base would regenerate funds quickly and <br />therefore pay for the project along with the other benefits that will be received. <br />Councilmember Riley stated that the reasons for the incentives is to encourage the business <br />development and full build out, which brings more people into the community and builds the tax <br />base of the City. <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Williams, to Adopt Resolution <br />#16-10-200 Approving a Business Subsidy and Authorizing Execution of a Purchase Agreement. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Riley, Williams, Johns, <br />Kuzma, LeTourneau, and Shryock. Voting No: None. <br />Jeff Hagan, Platinum Properties, stated that he appreciates how smooth working with the City on <br />this process has been. He commended the professionalism of the staff, EDA and Council. He <br />stated that it is fantastic to be welcomed into the community and business should be done in this <br />manner everywhere. He thanked the Council and staff. <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />7.01: Review Sketch Plan for Gleason Subdivision (Outlot A, Ramsey Town Center 8tn <br />Addition) <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reviewed the staff report and recommendation from <br />the Planning Commission that the sidewalk requirement be waived noting that confirmation of <br />this direction will allow the developer to continue with Preliminary Plat design in which the City <br />Council will consider overall approval of the project. <br />Councilmember Riley asked and received confirmation that there are sidewalks on the other side <br />of the street and a pathway behind the homes on Bunker Lake Boulevard. <br />City Council / October 25, 2016 <br />Page 9 of 15 <br />
