BY CITY ERCII~EER TO UPDATE <br /> <br /> B~: Pete ~at~ka~ City ~gineer <br /> Dave ~r[le~, Citl M~inistra~or <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On July 30, 1985, the City of Ramsey entered into a joint powers agreement <br />with the Cities of Andover, Anoka, and Coon Rapids to establish the Lower Rum <br />River Watershed Management Organization. <br /> <br />This watershed was established to comply with Chapter 509 of Minnesota <br />Statutes Sections 473.875 to 473.883 which requires all cities and townships <br />within the seven county metropolitan area to establish watershed management <br />organizations and complete watershed plans by December 31, 1986. <br /> <br />As part of the Lower Rum River Watershed Management Organization Joint Powers <br />Agreement, each city agreed to develop a local Water Management Plan within <br />the time period prescribed at their own expense. The local plans will have to <br />be completed by August 1, 1986 to allow adequate time for the Watershed <br />Engineer (Bart Engineering) to complete the overall plan for the Watershed <br />Management Organization. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a proposal from the City Engineer to update the Comprehensive <br />Storm Drainage Plan to comply with Chapter 509 of the Minnesota Statutes. <br /> <br />Recm~endation: <br /> <br />It is the recommendation of the City Administrator that the City Council pass <br />the following motion authorizing the City Engineer to update the Comprehensive <br />Storm Drainage Plan to comply with Chapter 509. <br /> <br />Conncil ~tion: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Authorize the City Engineer to update the Comprehensive Storm Drainage <br />Plan as outlined in his letter of April 17, 1986 at a cost not to exceed <br />$11,500.00 <br /> <br />Revie~ Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator X <br />Attorney <br />Engineer ~ <br />Community Development Dir. <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Director <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
