The total m~ount of accumulated comp time <br />will be limited to 80 hours~ employees will have to he paid overtime <br />for anything over 80 hours. Mr. Rsrtley stated that Mr. Mevissen's <br />classification and inclusion in the union also needs clarification; <br />his activities will be monitored during the next year for supervisory <br />related functions. Mr. Rartley stated that most likely, in one year, <br />a petition for redetermination and exclusion from the union viii be <br />submitted for for Noel Craczyk, Anne Norris, Her1, Hey/saSh and Penny <br />Curtis. <br /> <br />5. The employees agreed to language that lay offs are on a seniority <br /> basis only when ~ob functions are relevant. <br /> <br />There was a brief discussion regarding dissatisfaction in the Public <br />Works Department with salariesl consensus was that those salaries <br />would re~ain as proposed. <br /> <br />Uniforms will be provided for employees in the Public Works <br />Department. <br /> <br />Severance pay will be paid at a rate of 331 of the unused accumulated <br />sick leave after five years of e~ployment; it will not be paid if the <br />employee is discharged, voluntarily terminates prior to 5 years or <br />does not give 30 days written notice of termination. The Personnel <br />Committee agreed to this language. <br /> <br />With respect to duration of contract, the language states that the <br />terms and conditions of employment will continue year to year unless <br />either party chooses to terminate them. The terms and conditions of <br />the contract do not take effect until the contract is signedi the <br />terms and conditions are not retroactive but health insurance benefits <br />and salary are to January 1, 1986. <br /> <br />10. Step salary programs are not included in the contract but those <br /> programs that have been established and in process will be honored. <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee requested that Mr. Hartley provide a summary of the <br />contract for the full Council on April 29~ 1986. <br /> <br />Case ~2: ~uildin! Inspector Selection: <br /> <br />Hr. Hartley stated that a wide range of persons are being considered and <br />recommended that interviews be scheduled with 3 non-certified persons, 3 Class <br />I certitifed persons and 3 Class II certified persons. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann inquired as to the reason for t~o City employees working <br />at the Pet Clinic on April 26. <br /> <br />Hr.
