This <br />policy does NOT suggest or i=ply si=ilar restrictions on the herint of <br />te~pora~ full-time or t~pory part-time ~ployees. <br /> <br />~elationship to Other City Personnel <br /> <br />I/henever possible, and vitb due regard for job-relevant <br />qualifications, merit and fitness, the e~ployer shall avoid the <br />appointment of any person related to an appointed officer or <br />regular full-time or regular part-time employee of the City. <br />Appointments or assignments of persons related to an eaployee in <br />the same department in vhich the e~ployee vorks is <br />prohibited. <br /> <br />This provision does not apply to marital status, as protected <br />under the Minnesota Human lights Act. Employment of the spouse <br />of an elected or appointed officer or e~ployee is not prohibited; <br />however, appointments or assignments of an e~ployee's spouse in <br />the same department in vhicb the e~ployee vorks is <br />prohibited. <br /> <br />Appointment to a position in the ~nicipaI service shall not be <br />construed to be a property right of the employee. All employees <br />vhoae positions are covered by this policy are appointed by and <br />serve at the sole discretion of the employer. <br /> <br /> <br />
