5 Minutes CASE

APPOINTMENT OF LANDFILL BOARD MEMBER
(METI1ANE GAS RECOVERY PROJECT)
By: Dave Hartley, City Administrator

Background:

In May of 1983, the City of Ramsey, City of Anoka, and County of Anoka entered
into a joint powers agreement which established a five member board consisting
of one member of the respective City Councils and County Board, one member from
the Anoka County Community Action Program and the County Board Chairperson. At
that time, Mayor Camec was appointed to serve on the "Landfill Board" for the
City of Ramsey.

Mr. Tim Yantos, Assistant County Administrator, has recently contacted me and
asked if the City Council would consider the appointment of someone to replace
former Mayor Gamec in his capacity on the "Landfill Board". I asked Mr. Yantos
if there was a specific task to be undertaken. Mr. Yantos' reply was that this
was just a housekeeping effort and the routine responsibility of the Board is
to review reports and operations for the methane gas recovery project.

Included in the reference material is a copy of the joint powers agreement for
your information.

Recommendation:

Council Action:

Motion to:
Appoint
project).

to serve on the Landfill Board (methane gas

Review Checklist:

Administrator
Attorney
Engineer
Community Development Dir.

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Other
