they have submitted s bill but the work is not acceptable; staff is not
processing the bill sad looking for a company to properly complete the
construction.

Ram·my bas applied to DNR for grant assistance for flood damage reduction.
It is a matching fund offer with a $15,000 DNR participation limit; R~sey
submitted ~ $40,000+ project ~hich would mea~ n $25,000 city participation
cost; project scope can be reduced to keep city's participation at $15,000.

Notion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember $orteberg approving
the grant application that has been placed with Dlt~ for flood damage reduction
funds,

Notion carried. Voting Yea: Nayor Neitman, Councilnembers $orteberg, Cox,
Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None.

Discussion Re_~ardin_~ Newgtructure At Plants And Thin, s:

Councilmember Cox stated that several of the recent Plaunlug and Zoning meeting
minutes show Commissioner Deemer*s concerns with ney construction at Plants and
Things. Nr. Rickman'a plans indicated a warehouse and he built according to
the building inspector*s recommendations. Similar type buildings have been put
in the same vicinity; approaching Hr. l~ickman pleasantly, rather than calling
hiu before the P&Z Commission, would have been the better way to treat a
businessman. It would not be appropriate on Council's part to allow this
harassment to continue.

Nr. Fults stated that P&Z and HDC discussed this case at their 7-15 joint
meeting. Nr. Hickman's permit first stated the building was to be used for
retail space; he was informed that the building did not meet the qualifications
for retail so he changed the permit appllcation to read for storage; he is
using the building for retail space.

Nr. Goodrich verified Hr. Fults comments.

Notion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to not
require Hr. Hickman of Plants and Things to return to the Planning and Zoning
Commission but rather that he meet with city staff to resolve concerns.

Further Discussion: Councilmember Cox stated that the concerns with Plants and
Things could have been resolved between he and one member of city staff; it was
not necessary to call him before the entire Planning and Zoning Commission.

Notion carried. Voting Yes: Nayor Heitman, Councilnembers Sorteberg, Cox,
Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None.

Letters Of Reco_~nition Commeudin_~ Accomplishments Of Ramsay
Eesidents Dan Erickson and RoB Hanson:

Notion by Councilmeaber Cox and seconded by Nayor Heitman to send letters of
recognition, signed by the entire Council, commending Dan Erickson for
accomplishments in archery and Rob Hanson for accomplishments in gymnastics.

3uly 22, 1
City Co~.mc£ ].
