ACTION PLAN <br />GENERAL GOVERNMENT <br /> <br />NE~D: Improved communicstion between all levels of city government. <br /> <br />The effectiveness and efficiency of local government can often be traced tv <br />how well the parties communicste. Often when a message is lost or misunder- <br />stood, conflict or hurt feelings result. Therefore, improving upon the <br />communication skills and procedure of the organization can lead to less <br />conflict, greater efficiency, and improved effectiveness. <br /> <br />ACTIOI~ TEAM: The following persons are members of the "Action Team" and will <br />contribute in their own way to seeking a solution to the NEED. <br /> <br />Primary Coordinator <br />Secondary Coordinator <br /> <br />Dave Hartley, City Administrator <br /> , Mayor <br /> <br />Council Member <br />Planning and Zoning Commission Member <br />Economic Development Commission Member <br />Park & Recreation Commission Member <br />Airport Commission Member <br />Charter Commission Member <br />Citizen (not a board member) <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE: As members of the A~tion Team you are asked to: <br /> <br />1) Identify the ways in which communication can be improved by <br /> addressing: <br /> a. communication procedure; <br /> b. communication skills; <br /> c. communication tools; <br /> d. communication equipment. <br /> <br />Suggest the specific actions which will lead to improved <br />communication. <br /> <br />ACTION: This team should report its findings to the Council, Commissions and <br />Staff within three months. Organization and research should be the first <br />action.
