ACTION PLA~ <br />GENERAL GOVERNMENT <br /> <br />NEED: More vigorous enforcement of laws and regulations; and <br /> the need for understandable laws and regulations that work. <br /> <br />This need requires a total review of our laws and regulations to determine if <br />the l~ws ~nd regulations meet or exceed the purpose for which they were <br />intended. Other methods of enforcement may also be researched and <br />recommended. <br /> <br />ACTIOI~ TEAM: The following persons are members of the "Action Team" and will <br />contribute in their own way to seeking a solution to the NEED. <br /> <br />Primary Coordinator <br />Secondary Coordinator <br /> <br />Bill Goodrich, City Attorney <br />Mike Auspos, Chief of Police <br /> <br />Dave ~artley <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Planning and Zoning Commission Member <br />Charter Commission Member <br />Citizen (not a commission member) <br />Citizen (not a commission member) <br /> <br />OBJECTIYg: As members of the Action Team you are asked to: <br /> <br />1) Review the laws of our community and identify laws which may no <br /> longer serve the purpose for which they were intended or no longer <br /> be needed. <br /> <br />2) For each law, offer suggestions on various methods of enforcement <br /> and the recommended procedure. <br /> <br />3) If there appears to be a void in our laws, identify that void and <br /> suggest a policy or law to fill that void. <br /> <br />ACTION: To begin this process, which may take as long as a year, organize the <br />team and decide where the group wishes to start. <br /> <br />RESOURCES: <br /> City Code plus Ordinances <br /> Other Cities' Codes <br /> Minnesota Statutes Annotated <br /> McQulin Municipal Law <br /> City Council Minutes <br /> <br />City Charter <br />Charter Commission Minutes <br />Attorney General's Opinions <br />Case Law <br /> <br /> <br />
