Compo_ StirS_ And <br /> Waste Reduction Programs: <br /> <br />Council discussed the City beginning with a waste reduction program that would <br />focus on used motor oil collection and composting. <br /> <br />Council consensus is to direct City Staff and the Landfill Ad Hoc (km~ittee to <br />make reconmm, ndations for a waste reduction work plan focusing on motor oil <br />collection and composting; further, to have that recommendation available for <br />Council review at their meeting scheduled for June 25, 1985. <br /> <br />Oouncil requested that Mr. Berg see to it that the issue of a waste reduction <br />work plan be placed on the next Landfill Ad Hoc C~t~ meeting agenda. <br /> <br />D. Tandfill Grounds Report For March 1985 and April 1985.. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that he received a call fr~m City f~gineer Raatikka on 5-30-85 <br />and the recent test results at the landfill were bad. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that he reoeived a call fr~m Mr. Terry Miller and Mr. <br />Miller says their is contamination sh~wing up in some of the wells on landfill <br />property. Test samples were sent to the two labs involved; an employee at <br />Emery Air Freight took it upon herself to hold shipment of the samples until <br />after the weekend; the samples were r~t held in the proper envirorm~.nt and <br />became contaminated; testing must be redone. That testing has been redone and <br />the results should be back soon. <br /> <br />Council consensus is to address the problem when it is known for sure that <br />there is a problen. <br /> <br />~.. Recei~c of Certain Revenues In Regards To Landfill: <br /> <br />Council noted the following: <br /> <br />1) Letter dated May 17, 1985 from Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. <br /> transmitting the City of Ramsey's monthly payment for March 1985. <br /> <br />2) Mized municipal solid waste fee monthly report for April 1985. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 8:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the special Council meeting back to order at 8:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Unfinished ~usiness From 5-28-85 Aq_enda (Continued): <br /> May 30, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 7 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
