Mr. Brennan stated that the liquor license expired on June 30, 1985 and inquired if Oouncil is going to require an application for a new license or will renew the old license. Mr. Brennan urged Council to renaw the old license as there is no change in ownership. Mr. Brennan noted that Council is aware of Mr. Gilbertson's background in the caumunity, a new license would require a reapplication and public hearing which is time consuming, and 11 e~ployees are presently out of work. Gounciln~mber Sorteberg inquired if the liquor license would go into effect as soon as the taxes are cleared. Mr. Goodrich replied that it would assu~ing Council decides to reissue the Old license and not require application for a new license. Mr. Goodrich read the proposed resolution. Motion by Councilme~ber COx and seconded by Councilm~mber Sorteberg to adopt Resolution %85-132 to reissue the liquor license for J.R.'s Saloon, Mr. Janes R. Gilbertson owner, and not require a new license application. ~is action is subject to payment, by the applicant, of the property ta~es as required by Anoka Gounty so that there are no delirguent property taxes on record. ~is means that the 1983 delinquent taxes and 1984 delinquent taxes have to be paid in full. Further, that the applicant provide to the City a Tax Cx~pliance Certificate fr~m the Minnesota Department of Revenue which releases their objection to the City of Ramsey issuing the subject liquor license. ~hat the applicant provide to the City of Ramsey a Certificate of Insurance as required by City Ordinance. ~hat the Police (kief has o0~pleted his investigation as defined by City Ordinance and find that the applicant has no criminal and/or liquor license violations which would not permit reissuance of the subject license. ~hat the applicant sign the application for liquor license for the year 1985/1986 before a notary public and that notarized doc~ent be presented to the City. ~hat the applicant pay to the City it's required $4,200.00 license fee which includes a Sunday liquor license fee. In the ewent that any one of the above is not accomplished on or before August 5, 1985, the applicant shall not reoeive a license from the City of Ramsey until he applies for a new liquor license. Jon Mr. Boros was present and requested a variance from the 50% Class 1 soils requirement and approval to install a mound system for the on-site septic system for two lots located on 164th Lane just east of Variolite.
