Mayor Heitman stated that the Oouncil should really get a reco~m~_ndation from <br />the City Engineer rather than taking action without proper information. <br /> <br />Gouncilmember COx stated that the two lots are being taxed as buildable lots; <br />if the lots require a mound septic system, then the City is obligated to go <br />along with it. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that the City could cease to tax the lots as buildable. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx stated that the City would then have to reimburse that excess <br />tax for previous years. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle noted that Council turned down a similar request from a Mr. Duncan <br />Johnson. Mr. Schnelle suggested that a findings of fact be done before <br />granting a variance. <br /> <br />Councilm~ber Cox stated that Mr. Johnson's lot was not a lot of record. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that if Council grants a varianoe, he is going to require that <br />the basement floor and system elevation be set by an engineer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilme~ber Cox and seconded by Councilmenber Sorteberg to grant a <br />variance from the requirement for 50% Class I soils for those two lots located <br />at xxxx 164th Lane N~ and xxxx 164th Lane ~ and approve the installation of a <br />mound system for the on-site septic system; further that this varianoe is <br />contingent upon the requirements of the Building Inspector being satisfied. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hei~an, Councilmenf~rs Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter.
