l~ettman inquired why the re~ident~ o~ Y~int~ood ~ couldn't ap~a~ on the <br />that they don't need the storn, sewer. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg replied that the cx>urts determine benefit and accx~rdtng to the <br />courts, if you contribute, you benefit. <br /> <br />Counctlmember Reimann stated that the City picking up m share of the cost <br />means all City residents are paying for storm sewer improvements in other <br />districts than their own and he feels that each district should take care of <br />tt'~ own water problems. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg explained that storm sewer improvements to all area in Watershed <br />District $43 amounts to $784/acre, based on tomorrow dollars and proceeded to <br />explain Alternative $1 in the following way: assess the developers of <br />FlintwOod I! $784/acre; spread the balance of the cost of improvements across <br />the entire district at $53/acre. Make the residents aware that the $53 is a <br />partial payment; that they will continue to be assessed for each additional <br />improvement project in the district until they have reached a total <br />acc~nulative assessment in the area of $784. <br /> <br />Motion by Oounciln,~ber Sorteberg and seoonded by Counciln~r Reimann to <br />t~_hle discussion of alternative asses.~nent methods for storm sewer <br />improvements in Watershed District $43 until Council meeting scheduled for <br />March 7, 1985. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Art Raudio stated that he, as a developer, would <br />prefer to pay his full assessment for storm sewer improv~nts in Watershed <br />District 843 in full with one assessment. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Beitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Rills For A~roval Pot ~he ~4onth I3{ F~bruarv ]9R5_. <br /> <br />Oouncil unanimously consented to dispense with the reading of the proposed <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Oouncilm~r Reimann and seoonded by Councilme~r COx to adopt <br />Resolution $85-61 authorizing the payment of bills for the month of February, <br />1985 in the amount of $282,581.00. (Please refer to resolution file for <br />Resolution 885-61). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, COx, <br />Reimann and Schlueter.
