Chairm~ Ippel referred to ~fety ~n~rns expressed and stated that people fail to realize that Gat~ay will not be enlarged or ex~; the facility would be opgr&c~ to (x~ply with statutes of regulatory a~encies for safety levels. Gateway's Zone A would be twioe the size of that area at Crystal; the purpose for these increased area sizes is for safety and ~oise elimination purposes. Ooncern has been expressed regarding lo~ flying aircraft; Gateway would be utilizing a VASI syster, a light syster that tells pilots what the appropriate glide slope should be for approae~hing the airport. With respect to oonoerns for subidividing in Zone B, the Airport (k~mission ~mnnot do anything about that probl~ at this ~{_me other than to note that it exists.
