I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
i
i
I
I

Ramsey city Council
Page 2
October 18, 1985

10.

John Lenz, 16234 Jarvis St. N.W.: This problem is located
in Elk River. I have discussed the problem with the city of
Elk River and stated that they should resolve this problem.
The solution may require constructing a drainage ditch from
the City of Elk River to Trott Brook in Ramsey.

Helen Nebelung, 17675 Argon St. N.W.: This problem is a
combined surface and groundwater problem. A culvert acros~
Argon Street outlets into Mrs. Nebelung's lot and drains
toward her drainfield. With the heavy rainfall and high
water table, her drain field and septic tank have backed up
into her basement. A possible solution to minimize the
problem would be to swale the drainage from the culvert away
from the drainfield. This would require easements.

12,14
&17. Highway 10 Area: Skelgas is currently pumping groundwater
from their lot across Highway 10 to alleviate their flooding
problem. Based on piezometers in the area, the water table
is four feet higher than July, 1985. We have also installed
piezometers south of Highway 10 and it appears that the
groundwater has a steep gradient toward the Mississippi
River.

13.

19.

Floyd Larson, 18025 Erdium St. N.W.:
by the high water level in Ford Brook. The City started a
project and provided an outlot to Ford Brook for Mr. Larson
two years ago. Due to wet conditions, the final grading has
not been completed.

Arla Voltin, 6410-162nd Ave. N.W.: This problem is a com-
bined surface and groundwater problem. A city culvert
drains into this lot towards the drainfield. With the heavy
rains and high water table, her drainfield and septic tank
have backed up into her basement. Swaling the drainage
from the culvert away from the drainfield may help to minimize
the problem.

This problem is caused

20.

Ronald Lange, 14930 St. Francis Blvd. N.W.: We will be
pumping the pond on the east side of T.H. 47. I contacted
Mrs. Lange and informed her of the pumping. I also told her
we could not pump her side of T.H. 47 because there was not
a culvert crossing.

26.

Zirconium St. N.W.:
edge of the street.

This problem consists of water on the

27.

Ralph Lenarz, 4925-179th Lane N.W.: Flooding of the
Lenarz's basement is caused by high groundwater.
