t
that your lot is slightly less than 2 acres. This would make your keeping of a
pig on the property a violation of the Ramsey City Code as well as the amended
rules and regulations of Northfork. In other words, any action taken by the
Board to amend the Northfork rules and regulations would not affect your
inability to have a pig at your property. Accordingly that animal should be
removed.
Second, regarding the keeping of chickens on the property, Chapter 10 Article. I
(g)(I11) indicates that if an individual desires to keep chickens on their property,
a confined "exercise area" must be provided for the animals and this "exercise
area" must fenced off to prevent the animals from roaming at large. The
creation of the "exercise area" by the installation of fencing requires plans to be
submitted to the Northfork Architectural Review Committee. Frankly, it is
likely that these plans would not be approved if they include chain link fencing
as this type of fencing is regularly disallowed by the Committee. The Board
would request that you submit plans for your "playhouse" as well as the plans
for the City ordinance required "exercise area" for review to the Northfork
Architectural Review Committee.
The Board does acknowledge that rabbits are not included in its definition of
livestock and therefore does not object to you keeping those animals if you
have them. However, it is the Board's position that should those animals be
kept in an outside structure, approval of the plans for that structure is still
required.
Finally, I understand that, as a result of your receipt of my correspondence you
have taken to social media to criticize the Board for its actions that you
disagree with. However, more importantly, you have used the names of the
individual Board members as well as the name of one of the Board member's
spouses while making your complaints on social media. On behalf of the
Board, I hereby demand that you refrain from making personal, derogatory,
and inflammatory comments about any of the individual Board members and
most especially their family members. Disagreements can be resolved without
personal attacks.
Very tru y yours,
Ma ,./Berglund
e
,IM EB/rdh
