The final product for this task will be a plan set approved and signed by MnDOT. Task 3: Preliminary Bridge Design and Plan Preparation Bolton&Menk will complete the preliminary design of the structural components of the project to allow for MnDOT review and approval of a Preliminary Bridge Plan. Components of this task include: • Obtaining and reviewing existing data, • Preparing connection details for the new structure to the Transit Station, • Preparing a preliminary design of the structure and helix ramp, • Preparing preliminary quantity estimates and cost estimates, • Submittal of the preliminary design to MnDOT Bridge Office for review, and • Performing QA/QC throughout the preliminary design process. The final product for this task will be a Preliminary Bridge Plan approved and signed by MnDOT. Task 4: Final Bridge Design and Plan Preparation After completion of Task 3, Bolton&Menk will begin the final design of the structural components of the project. Components of this task include: • Prepare 60%plans,including estimated quantities and costs, • Submit 60%plans to City and MnDOT Bridge Office for review and comment, • Prepare a comment resolution log prior to proceeding further with the design, • Prepare 90%plans,including estimated quantities and costs, • Submit 90%plans to City and MnDOT Bridge Office for review and comment, • Prepare final quantities and final cost estimate, • Submit Final Plans to MnDOT Bridge Office for signatures, • Update the Comment Resolution logs and Plan Review Checklist, and • Performing QA/QC throughout the design process. The product for this task will be an approved Final Bridge Plan signed by MnDOT. Task 5: Specifications, Cost Estimating and Load Rating Bolton &Menk will prepare specifications in accordance with MnDOT requirements for Federal Aid projects.
