2 <br /> <br />Public Hearing/7-10-78 <br />(Street Petitions) <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka responded, 1 5 years for rural sections and 25 for suburban <br />streets or lifetime and each requires maintenance i.e., sealcoating. <br /> <br />MENKVELD COUNTRY PARK <br /> <br />Cost Summary <br /> <br />Total Cost Total Units Cost Per Unit Annual Unit Cost 7%-10 .Mr, 1 5 yr. <br /> <br />$39,100 37 $1057 $151 $116 <br /> <br />Dick West, 6351 164th Lane asked if this concerns all lots or just where <br />there are houses. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said it concerns all lots. <br /> <br />Dick West, 6351 164th Lane asked if driveway entrances wo~ld be tarred. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka replied, no, just the road but if your driveway comes <br />close we will attach it with the street. <br /> <br />Maurine DeRubeis, 16331 Uranium Street asked in regards to maintenance, <br />who pays? <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka. answered, the City would pay for maintenance. <br /> <br />R~urine DeRubeis asked what is timing on this for completion. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said if the City decides to go ahead with the feasibility, <br />a public hearing could be scheduled for July 24, plans and specs would then <br />be ordered after the hearing, a bid date would be set, bids would open <br />about August 18th and construction started the first part of September <br />with completion about the first part of November 1978. <br /> <br />~urine DeRubeis asked if this would include anything in ditches or <br />easements. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka replied, probably only areas where we would be regrading <br />to prevent erosion.. <br /> <br />Dick West asked how firm the preliminary cost is. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka stated, 10 to 1 5 percent flexibility could be expected <br />in the cost. <br /> <br />Resident on Wolfram asked - Is cost based p~r square foot and why is <br />there such a difference between plats and he is concerned about the drainage <br />and frost boils. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said the prices are unit costs, so much for bituminous <br />and so much for gravel, the difference is due to density of the area and <br />curvature of the streets. He said they will place gravel on the shoulders <br />and seed disturbed areas and direct run off, as far as frost boils, in areas <br />where there is bad material they ~ill excavate. <br /> <br />Dennis Riser, 16330 Zirconium asked about rural and Lsuburban street sections, <br />and if we go to suburban later on do you haul all the rest away. <br /> <br /> <br />
