Mr. Start reo!ied that the Metro Council <br />Would give approval, and that the City could request an extension. <br />Mr. .Starr stated that he realized that the City doesn't want to <br />sr~end funds and effort on planning that may be obsolete. <br /> <br />Im answer to a cuestion from Art Dunn~ Mr. Starr stated that the <br />364 ~odest cost housing applied to the next ten years and there <br />would orobably be a figure for the followin~ ~en years <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he felt if we examine our present housing, <br />we may h~ve already met the necessary re0. uirements. <br /> <br />Pete Raatikka stated that we have already started with the necessary <br />zon~_ng. <br /> <br />Ken ~eterson stated that he felt this was a frustrating discussion, <br />since the olan is still being held up, and we are being asked to <br />soend more money. <br /> <br />M~. Starr said that he understood that we should not be forced, into <br />olsnn±ng if the Metro Council could not provide main guidelines, and <br />tb~t they would, be interested in coming back in a co~o!e Of months. <br /> <br />A1 Sorte.berg asked if seu, er was required for the mo~est cost housing, <br />and i.f there was ~ break dov.,n on owne~ or rented units. Mr. Cosby <br />stated that se~.,'er was not necessary, and there wasn't any ratio of <br />owned an~ rented. <br /> <br />Mr. Start also discussed the need for a trensvortstion and thorough- <br />fare 9ortion of the Plan in which we have to consider the possibility <br />of having to assume resoonsibility for #47, and its' relationshi~ <br />to our business district, and capacity. M~yor Cox exnlained that <br />the City Engineer is presently addressing this ~roblem. <br /> <br />Item 2. Jack Menkveld's Reeuest for Rezoninff. <br />The Commission was informed that the reason this item was being <br />readdressed was that the boundaries on the original request had <br />been changed. Jack Menkveld was present ~vith a sketch plan for <br />the new area., exotaining that it will be used for service type <br />industrial and small manufacturing. <br /> <br /> <br />
