ADMIN ]000 (Rev. ]/78)

SPA/Environmental Planning
DEPARTMENT ..........

STATE OF MIN~OTA
Office Memorandum

FROM

: Mr. Lloyd Schnelle
City Administrator
15153 Nowthen Blvd., N.W.
Anoka, MN 55303

: Arthur E. Sidner, Chairman
Environlnental Quality Board

DATE: Feb. 16, 1979

PHONE: 296-6662

SUBJECT: Recommendation on Permit Application in the Mississippi River Critical
Anea: The Proposed Grosslein Beverage Building in the City of Ramsey

The Environmental Quality Board (EQB) has received the proposal for
construction of a warehouse building in Ramsey and the EQB staff
has reviewed it for conformance with the Interim Development
Regulations for the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area.

The Critical Areas staff is concerned about the potential erosion
and pollution generated by a large volume of runoff from the
warehouse and parking lot and its effects on the river and
adjacent land. The City of Ramsey should be assured by the
applicant that runoff from the Grosslein Beverage expansion will
be properly managed during and after construction of the building.

In conclusion, the project is in accord with the Interim Regulations
and the EQB has no objections to the City's granting the permit.

/br

CC'

Bob Coborn
Miller Construction Co.
