Page 5 <br />eailar Council <br /> nuary 29~ ~979 <br /> <br />Commission, and after reviewing the Economic Development Commission the <br />City Council reviewed the matter and directed that proposed findings be <br />prepared. <br /> <br />7) That the property lies between railroad trackage and a major thorough- <br />fare highway. <br /> <br />8) That it is better suited for an industrial use than a residential use <br />because of noise created by train traffic, highway traffic and vibration. <br /> <br />9) That the safety and welfare of the citizens would be better served by <br />having the property as an industrial use rather than a residential use. <br /> <br />10) That the property as an industrial use would act as a buffer between <br />an R-1 district and the railroad. <br /> <br />11) That the property lies within a corridor of the City which is where an <br />extension of Industrial Blvd. would be ideal and beneficial to the City. <br /> <br />12) That the property in question is similer in nature and in a general <br />corridor of other properties Zoned industrial east of the subject property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilman Muller, Councilman <br />Reimann, Councilman Mickelson and Councilman Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION ORDINANCE <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to adopt ordi- <br />nance 79~2 which is an ordinance adding the following language to chapter <br />10.02 Planning Commission of the City Code: <br /> <br /> Commissioners may resign voluntarily or may be removed from <br /> office by a majority vote of the City Council. Three con- <br /> secutive unexcused absences from duly called commission meetings <br /> shall constitute automatic resignation from office. Vacancies <br /> in the commission are to be filled by City Council appointment <br /> with a majority vote. <br /> <br />Motion carri~d'~. Voting'yes Mayor Gamec, Councilman Muller, Councilman <br />Reimann, Councilman Mickelson and Councilman Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br /> <br />Councilman Cox reported what has occurred on this application to date. He <br />stated a letter had been received from Bernie Steffan stating he would do the <br />ground work in applying for the grant for a cost of $35,00 per hour and <br />had figured to take approximately 15 hours to complete the work. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated a committed consisting Of Mr. Ron Jereck, Mr. Kenneth <br />Peterson, Mr. Dennis Donovan, Mr. Marc Hadley, Mr. Jack Peterson and Mayor <br />Tom Gamec had met on this. It was felt they would like to place this facility <br />on Highway ~47 across from the old City Hall, The building would be built in <br />the side of the hill and have solar heat. <br /> <br /> <br />
