PLUS: Your membership entitles you to these discounts on other Center services: For Charter Members only (joining before October 1,. 1979), the Center will credit up to one-half of your annual membership fee against the costs of any of our indepth consulting services that'you may wish to use during the year. You retain this credit privilege from year to year, for as long as you renew your membership. Your Charter Member discount on consulting services is actu- ally a double discount because, as a member, you will be entitled to the Center's consulting services at cost. You may already have used some of the Center's consulting services in such areas as feasibility studies, drafting of cable ordinances, design of cable proposal forms, evaluation of propo- sals from cable companies, franchise negotiations, evaluation of technical performance, or evaluation of rate increase requests. The enclosed brochure gives more detail about the many con- sulting services the Center is offering to its members at cost. Please look it over carefully. The Center has the capability and desire to work as part of your own staff. By becoming a Charter Member of the Center, you can assure the continued availability of this staff resource at a fraction of what it would cost to create such expertise for your specific needs. And there is another reason for giving the Center your mem- bership support: your support will allow the Center to continue a range of activities that benefit all municipalities dealing with cable systems: The Center will monitor cable television 'proceed- ings at the FCC, in congressional subcommittees, in the courts and in the administrative agencies. Our staff will attend proceedings and will pre- pare testimony that reflects the interests of local governments. The Center will examine activity in the telecom- munications industry for changes in technology, changes in industry positions on issues, and the multitude of operating procedures that affect local government regulation.
