They are dispatched by the Anoka County central
dispatcher and coverage at times that the City patrol is not
operating is by the County Sheriff's Office. Fire protection
is provided under contract from the Anoka City Fire Department.

The new municipal building will contain space for fire vehicles.
This location for future fire fighting needs of the city is stra-
tegic with respect to the proposed urban development area of the
city, the school location and transportation linkages to the re-
mainder of the community.

The study area is included in Anoka-Hennepin District No. 11,
as is most of the City. An elementary school was opened in 1975
in the study area on CSAH #5 south of 153rd Avenue. The senior
high school is immediately east of the study area across the
Rum River in the City of Anoka. The junior high school serving
the area is also within the City of Anoka.

- 20 -
