Businesses which involve the sale of small <br />amounts of merchandise, such as pharmacies, beauty salons and <br />flower shops, would be permitted. Small convenience retail <br />stores would also be permitted under certain circumstances <br />where they would not have an impact on adjacent residential <br />uses. <br /> <br /> Multiple and business uses are designated for locations <br />on the periphery of the retail business area and clustered <br />around major thoroughfare intersections. The site selected <br />for the new City Hall has been included in this land use <br />designation. <br /> <br /> It is anticipated and preferred that the principal land <br />use in this classification be multiple-family dwellings with <br />densities between five and fifteen units per acre. However~ <br />no area was reserved for that specific use for the purpose of <br />mitigating the effect of the arbitrary placement of the zoning <br />boundaries and to encourage planned large-scale developments. <br />It is hoped that such planned developments will include such <br /> <br />uses as: <br /> <br /> l) <br /> 2) <br /> 3) <br /> 4) <br /> 5) <br /> 6) <br /> <br />Multiple housing; <br /> <br />Personal and professional services; <br /> <br />Eating places; <br /> <br />Public buildings; <br /> <br />Offices and banks; <br /> <br />Funeral homes; <br /> <br />- 32 - <br /> <br /> <br />
