Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission

Regular Meeting

December 21, 1978

Members Present: Dennis Donovan, Sam Walz, Mike Haller, John Lichter,
Kevin Wolter

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.. The minutes of the 11/16/78
regular meeting were approved unanimously after a motion by Lichter and a
second by Haller.

A1 Sorteberg appeared before the commission to present the sketch plan of
his 65 + acre development. The site is bounded on the north by 161st Ave,
on the east by Variolite St and on the west by Armstrong Blvd. At present
the site is entirely cultivated. After discussion the commission indicated
that park land be contributed on the southwest corner of the development so
that additional park property could be secured adjacent to the proposed devel-
opment. This would be accomplished when the 80 acre tract south of the pro-
posed development is subdivided.

Kevin Wolter presented information on the probable cost of a new ice rink.
A permanent rink is estimated to cost $5,000 for just the boards, screens
and posts. A portable rink would run about $2,000.

The commission discussed Titterud Park and suggested some additional items
for addition to the resident questionaire prepared by commission member
Irvine. The finalized version of the form and it's distribution procedure
was tabled until the January meeting.

The commission adopted a motion requesting the city administrator to update
the existing map with new subdivision, park and other pertinent data. Motion
made by Walz, second by Wolter, approved unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.

Submitted by,
John Lichter
