CASE #6: PJ~MSEY'S CENSUS FOR 1980 FOR COMPUTING STATE AIDS <br /> <br />CASE #7: <br /> <br />Enclosure (D2-h) contains a metro dated July 22, 1980 from <br />Dorothy Oatman, Metro Council Demographer, which states that <br />the City of Ramsey's population will be 9,478 for State Aid <br />purposes. Now, the 9,478 population is the preliminary count <br />for the Federal Census, however, that will change as I stated <br />in Enclosure (D-2 case #9) under Council Old Business in the <br />Council agenda dated July 22, 1980- <br /> ? <br /> <br />The reason the Metro Council has to use our preliminary Federal <br />Census count is due to the fact that the State Revenue Depart- <br />ment wanted the figures by the end of J~uly, 1980. Accordingly <br />enclosure (D2-eee) shows how the population factor is used in <br />computing our State Aid. <br /> <br />Council Action: There is no Council action required but the <br />contents of enclosure (D2-h) should be noted in the minutes. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING AN EXTENSION 'OF SIX (6) MONTHS IN SUB- <br /> <br />MITTING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S COMPRE~NSIVE PLAN TO THE METRO <br />COUNCIL: <br /> <br />CASE #8: <br /> <br />Enclosure (D2-i) contains the sample resolution for requesting <br />this additional time that the City of Ramsey is probably going <br />to need in submitting their revised comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action'will be to adopt this resolution <br />or take no action. <br /> <br />RAMSEY LANDFILL: <br /> <br />The following is submitted for Council action: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Enclosure (D2-j) contains Mr. Hutchison letter dated <br />August 1, 1980, which has Serco Lab report of July 25, <br />1980 and the Landfill inspection report for July 3, 11, <br />15, & 31, 1980. Comncil should note they reviewed these <br />reports. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />City Staff (Bill Goodrich and Lloyd G. Schnelle) and <br />Councilman Cox met with Waste Management on August 19, <br />1980 at the City Attorney's office. The following was <br />discussed or accomplished: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />Waste Management agreed to establish a $5,000 Admini- <br />stration Fund with the City of Ramsey to defray City <br />costs incurred with Landfill problems. This $5,000 <br />would not be considered a part in any rates we are now <br />currently discussing with them. Council should by <br />motion state whether they agree or disagree with this <br />item. <br /> <br /> <br />
