Osterby, P.E. <br />Director <br />Building Codes and Standards <br /> <br />September, 1980 <br /> <br />Summary of Amendments in the 1980 State Building Code <br /> <br />Proposed amendments to the State Building Code which were subject of the <br />Public Hearings on October 9 & 10, 1979 and February 22, 1980 were filed with <br />the Secretary of State on July 31, 1980~ published in the State Register on <br />September 2, 1980 to be effective September 10, 1980. <br /> <br />2 MCAR 1.10101 through 2 MCAR 1.18901 - State Building Code. <br /> <br />Sec. 1.10111 adopts the 1979 U.B.C.-by-reference~with;the~following amendments:- <br /> <br />Sec. 104 - Requires that-unsafe, conditions, as defined~in Sec;;203 shall be <br />abated. <br /> <br />Sec. 104(f) - Adds requirement that approval be based upon submission of <br />complete architectural and engineering plans and specifications. <br /> <br />Sec. 203 - Designates that abatement of unsafe structures shall be by <br />procedures set forth in Minn. Statutes, Chapter 463 Sections 15 through 26. <br /> <br />Sec. 205 ~ Requirement for finding of board of appeals be submitted to the <br />State Building Official within 15 days of hearing. <br /> <br />Sec. 205 - Adds the stipulation that any violation of this code is a <br />misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Sec. 301(a) - Agricultural Buildings are added to the list of items not <br />requiring building permits. <br /> <br />Sec. 305(e) - Amended to add required inspections for (1) Insulation, before <br />covering, and (2) Installation of Mobile Homes, including anchoring systems, <br />if installed. <br /> <br />AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br /> <br /> <br />
