Sec. 1216 - Sound transmission control is required in R-1 Occupancies persuant <br />to Appendix Chapter 35. <br /> <br />Sec. 1217 - Section added requiring deadbolt locks in R-1 Occupancies. <br /> <br />Sec. 1706(d) - Is deleted & reference made to 2MCAR 1.18806. <br /> <br />Sec. 1711(b) - Handicapped provisions are deleted & referenced in 2MCAR <br />1.15501 - 1.15508. <br /> <br />Sec. 1711(c) - Is Deleted. <br /> <br />Sec. 1711(h) - New section added which is referenced in Section 605, 705, 805~ <br />905, 1005~ & 1205. <br /> <br />This section incorporates a Table I7-B which specifies minimum numbers of <br />sanitation fixtures. <br /> <br />Sec. 1716 - Provides for guardrails on accessible roofs of earth sheltered <br />buildings. <br /> <br />Sec. 1717(b)(1)(b) - Is amended to accept 1/2" standard'gypsum board or <br />equivalent for protection of foam plastic insulation. <br /> <br />Sec. 1807(h)(1) - A new, exception has J~een added for B-2 Occupancy buildings <br />that are protected by sprinkler systems throughout. <br /> <br />Sec. 2303(a) - Amendment provides that earth sheltered buildings are not <br />considered conventional construction due to loads imposed upon them. <br /> <br />Sec. 2305 (d) - Defines snow load requirements in all counties. <br /> <br />Sec. 2311(g) - Amendment requires that~wind design criteria for open frame <br />towers include .consideration of the effect of-l/2" of radial ice. <br /> <br />Sec. 2312(a) - Continues previous amendment designating Minnesota in seismic <br />Zone O. <br /> <br />Sec. 2403 - Amended to provide for use of concrete blocks tha~ are not <br />moisture controlled. <br /> <br />Sec. 2417 - This new section provides for an alternate design method for <br />masonry construction and requires special inspection, testing and <br />certification by the designer after completion of the job & prior to <br />occupancy~ when this method is used. <br /> <br />Sec. 2510(h) - Is amended to require that wood trusses be designed & built to <br />the standards of Truss Plate Institute (TPI 78) Design Specification for Metal <br />Plate Connected Wood Trusses as amended. UBC Standard 25-17 Part V is no <br />longer applicable. <br /> <br />Sec. 2917(a) - This amendment is carried forward form the previous code & <br />establishes frost penetration depths for all counties. Slab on grade <br />construction for single story buildings is also addressed. <br /> <br />Sec. 3203(d)3 - is amended to establish that the entire State of Minnesota is <br />considered an area subject to roof ice build up. <br /> <br />3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
