He suggested they look at what is reasonable and then set a limit. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt indicated they have approved 10 to 15 percent overages, and not more than 20 <br />percent. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald commented there have been a couple of larger cases that were 1,000 <br />square feet over, but the cases are typically about 100 square feet over. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt noted the larger cases were concerning mobile homes. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt questioned if 8 x 10 storage sheds are subject to the accessory classifications. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald replied if the size is 120 square feet or smaller it'is not regulated; <br />Ordinarily there is only one of these buildings allowed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked if a driveway is required. <br /> <br /> Associate Planner Wald responded in the negative. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy questioned if the location of the drain field and septic tank is reviewed. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald replied the applicant is aware of the septic being about 30 feet away <br />fi'om the building and feels they can maneuver around it. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt encouraged staff to review the issue of accessory buildings allowable size in <br />City Code. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt findings of fact relating to Martin and Ruth Mechtel's request for a Conditional <br />Use Permit to exceed the allotted square footage for accessory buildings.. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Brauer, Jeffrey and <br />Watson. Voting No: None.
