Principal City Engineer Olson replied $408,000. He noted that at this time staff was only <br />requesting authorization for design and survey of the plat not the entire project at this time. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig inquired if it would make sense to get some assurances that the new <br />development will occur before they spend the $61,000. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied that the Public Works Committee could authorize the <br />spending of the $20,000 for the survey only at this time. <br /> <br />Councihnember Cook inquired if the funds would come from available funds within the T1F <br />District. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied yes, explaining that the purpose of the fund is to redevelop <br />the property. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson noted that all of the trunk funds collected from the projects would <br />go into City funds. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig inquired if slowing down the process will impact the negotiations with <br />Sauter. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied yes. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig inquired if it was possible to get sewer and water extended into the area <br />this year. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied yes. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak inquired if sewer and water is extended to the properties the City is <br />looking to acquire won't it cost the City more <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson explained that the City still has to advertise for bids and get the <br />plans done so it will still be some time before the project proceeds forward. Staff would <br />absolutely not go forward with the project until the City acquires the land. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted that the F, DA should be ending negotiations within the next <br />month. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that his concern is that they are on the record that they are going to <br />proceed with the project. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman noted that if the land is acquired through condemnation the value of <br />the property is set at the time of taking.
