Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 8:56 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated Oakwood Land Development is requesting a <br />rezoning of property proposed to be platted as Sunflower Ridge from B-1 Business and B-2 <br />Business to R-3 Urban Residential. The rezoning will facilitate development of the subject <br />property with multiple family dwelling units not to exceed a density of 7 units per acre. The' <br />2001 Comprehensive Plan designates the property for development with low density residential <br />uses. The City Council recently approved an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to <br />reclassify the property for development with medium density residential uses. On April 12, <br />2002, the City received notification from Metropolitan Council that the land use change from <br />low to medium density residential was approved. The applicant is requesting that the City <br />rezone the property to R-3 Urban Residential in accordance with the approved Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment. City Staff recommends approval of the rezoning. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Chairperson Nixt, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, and Kociscak. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Reeve, Sweet, and Watson. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:58 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:58 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Brauer, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant relating to a request from Oakwood <br />Land Development to rezone the proposed plat of Sunflower Ridge to R-3 Urban Residential. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, and Kociscak. <br />Voting No: None.
