They only asked to name it Wildlife Sanctuary. She noted the City did not impose any <br />conditions. She offered to pull the original agreement to ensure there were no restrictions. She <br />said it will be researched before the issue is submitted to the Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Reeve, Sweet, and Watson. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 9:19 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 9:19 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson suggested the Staff be directed to research the claim that the property <br />was not to be developed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt noted to keep in mind the request is to rezone and not to develop. He asked <br />what is identified in the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik answered the rezoning is consistent with the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant relating to a request to rezone the <br />subject property from R-1 Rural Residential to R-1 Urban Residential. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Reeve, Sweet, and Watson. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the request to rezone the subject property from R-1 Rural Residential to R- <br />I Urban Residential, based on the findings of facts. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson reiterated the request for Staff to follow up on the issue of whether the <br />property can be developed. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None.
