outdoor storage would be restricted to 1.12 acres. The applicant would like to utilize 31% of the <br />subject property for outside storage purposes, which, equates to approximately 3.5 acres of the <br />total 11 acre site. The storage area is currently surfaced with an aggregate mixture similar to <br />Class V. Staff is recommending that additional landscaping be added along the northern <br />boundary line in order to provide additional screening of the outside storage area from the <br />neighboring property. Staff is recommending approval due to the surrounding area being <br />Industrial in nature and the proposed use being compatible with the existing businesses located <br />on the subject property. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Reeve, Sweet, and Watson. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:52 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:52 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Brauer, to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant relating to a request from Tom <br />Sauter for a conditional use permit to exceed outdoor storage restrictions established in City <br />Code. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, and Kociscak. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Reeve, Sweet, and Watson. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the conditional use permit request, based on the findings of fact. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None.
