BOARD OF REVIEW CITY OF RAMSEY May'6, 1975 The meeting wash..called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Cox. Present were Mr. Gotham, Mr. Reimahn, Mr. Mickelson and Mrs. Oliphant. Mr. Jerry Trapp from 'the County was also present. William John Bernard - Plat 89209 - Parcel 9380. He has 4.85 acres in this land with one-thirdunder water. The land value has raised from $912 to $2800 and now to $3500. It is located at Quartz and 166th Ave.. Has a road'frontage of 300 feet. His home address is 10650 Noble Ave. No., Minneapolis 55&&3. Three acres of this'parcel are bUildable. Mr. Reimannmove~ we leave this parcel as it is. Seconded by Mr. Gotham. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Elofso~; Trailer'Court on Highway 10: Plat 89235'- Parcel 4500. There are 90 lots in this park of which 60 lots will take 50 to 60 foot homes. Taxes were $202,550, then $258,070 and now $306,000. Mr. Trapp from the County suggested. Mr. Elofson go' to the .County to have this.reviewed. The County Board .of Review_ '.representative, Mr..Trapp, also stated-that the County would be hav- ing their Board of Review meeting on July l, 1975 .and they'probably should attend that'meeting._ Mr. Cox said~that, hewould strongly urge that the County look at this situation carefully. Mr. Nickel- son feels it is on the high side for taxes. Mr. Gotham moved we recommend that the County review the asSessment of Mr. & Mrs. Elof- son and this Board of Review feels that approximately $60,000 in- crease for the year 1976 is too high. Seconded by Mr. Nickelson. Notion carried unanimouslY. Mr. & Mrs. GeorMe Bauer.r. Plat 89201 - Parcels: 21 lots. Ford Brook Estates - 1 acre lots or larger. They said lots are not selling and they have sold some of these-~tots for-tess ~hanl-the~price at- which they have been--valued.: They have been valued.at $2$OOeach.. They are out of the three year assessment, value bracket. Mr. Bauer said some of the lots would have to have $1,000 in fill before they could be built on. No chan~e was madein the valuation of these lots. John Schutz: Plat q215 - Parcel 7260. He feels a 20% increase in valuation is excessive. He said many. averages are only 12% increase. He thinks it should be $3~,500 instead of $37,400 valu- ation. State average rise is !2%. His house is 12.years old.' .No change in the valuation of ~his case. ~Bernard Wurm: Plat 89222 - Parcels ~00 and ~J+50. He f.eels that as long as a church is going in next to him that this depreciates his place and the valuation should be lower. He wants it to go on record that he feels his valuation shall.drop. David Mickelsor~: Plat 89215 - Parcels 1560 and 1570. Last year he had a $5,000 increase in valuation. This year he has an increase of $6,000,' which m~kes an increase for two years running of $11,O00.
