SECTION 01562 - AIR, LAND AND WATER POLLUTION <br />PART 1-- GENERAL <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br />A. This section covers the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment and performances of all work and <br />services necessary for the prevention of air, land and water pollution as indicated on the plans or as <br />specified herein or as directed by the Engineer. <br />1.2 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br />A. Measurement and compensation for the following items shall be paid according to the referenced <br />specification or as modified below: <br />1. Payment for the prevention of air and land pollution shall be incidental to the project and no separate <br />compensation will be granted <br />2. Payment for all work associated with the prevention of water pollution and erosion control shall be <br />incidental to the project and no separate compensation will be granted, unless payment for such work <br />is specifically identified in Section 02370 of these Specifications. <br />B. SPECIFICATION REFERENCES <br />1. MnDOT Specification Section1717 shall apply to the prevention of air, land and water pollution. <br />2. MnDOT Specification Section 2573 shall apply to storm water management. <br />3. Unless noted otherwise, the provisions in this section are in addition to the referenced specification. <br />PART 2 -- PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 -- EXECUTION <br />3.1 GENERAL <br />A. The Contractor shall provide and maintain all sanitary accommodations for use by employees. <br />B. All solid waste material shall be disposed by the Contractor in accordance with the local and State solid <br />waste disposal regulations. <br />3.2 DUST CONTROL <br />A. The Contractor shall perform dust control operations necessary to proactively prevent the production of <br />dust in amounts to cause nuisance or damage to property, vegetation, animals, or persons in the vicinity of <br />the construction. <br />B. The Contractor shall keep the surface of construction work areas and unpaved haul roads moist by spraying <br />with uncontaminated water so as to prevent, not just reduce, airborne dust. <br />C. The Contractor shall suspend construction or haul traffic when the Contractor cannot prevent airborne dust <br />until such time as dust control can be re-established to the required levels. <br />D.
