Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:43 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to table the ordinance <br />amending certain sections of the City Charter. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, COUncilmembers Elvig, Strommen, Cook, Kurak, <br />and Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: CounCilmemberZimmerman. <br /> <br />Case #2: Report from Public Works <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig indicated the Public Works: Committee met on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 <br />and discussed the following cases: <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig explained a resident, Mr. Kemp, attended the meeting to discuss his <br />concerns about the condition of the boulevard in front of his house. In addition to the condition <br />of the boulevard, he sees a lot of people biking on; the turn lanes in front of his home. There was <br />some discussion about adding to the trail on the west side of Highway 47. The recommendation <br />of the Public Works Committee was to direct staff to research options, including a trail, and to <br />bring the issue before the Park and Recreation Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works committee for Citizen Input, and to direct staff to research <br />options, including a trail at the location discussed on the west side of Highway 47, and to bring <br />the issue before the Park and Recreation Board for discussion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: MaYor Gamec, CoUncilmembers Elvig, Cook, Kurak, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberZimmerman. <br /> <br />1) Snow Storage for Ramsey Town Center <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig reported the Committee discussed snow storage for Ramsey Town Center, <br />and there were two options that came forward. Staff has negotiated with RTC to use the outlot in <br />the southeast corner of Ramsey Town Center. The other alternative discussed was the open land <br />west of the Public Works complex. The intention was to find an area to store the snow for the <br />2004-2005 season, as this year will be more of a training year for the new crew. He explained <br />part of the concern was that there:have been a lot of requests for the City to store snow. The <br />recommendation was to determine the amount of snow that is accumulated in the first season. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded, by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee for Case 1 and to recommend that the City <br />Council finalize the right-of-way agreement with RTC for 2004/2005 snow storage on Outlot GG <br /> <br />City CounCil/NoVember 9, 2004 <br /> Page 11 Of 31 <br /> <br /> <br />
