11.2 Sick leave may be granted by the EMPLOYEE'S Depaitunent Head when the <br />EMPLOYEE is unable to perform work duties due to illness, disability, the necessity <br />for medical, dental or chiropractic care, childbirth or exposure to contagious disease <br />where such exposure may endanger the health of others with whom the EMPLOYEE <br />could come in contact in the course of performing work duties. Sick leave may also be <br />authorized when the EMPLOYEE'S presence is necessary, for actual illness, injury, <br />legal quarantine or medical treatment in the EMPLOYEE'S immediate family. <br />Immediate family, for the purposes of this Article, shall be defined as spouse, parent, <br />step parent, children, step children, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchildren or a like <br />member of the EMPLOYEE'S spouse's family; and y person or persons for whom <br />sick time can be used to provide care under ap . ' - state and federal statutes.
