Jackie Florentius - 17601 Marmoset - said that most of the people on the <br />petition are worried about the traffic that the trails will generate and about <br />the land that will be taken away. <br /> <br />Mike Mas - 16284 Uranium - stated that the only part of the trail system he is <br />opposed to is the snowmobiles. <br /> <br />Beck Vien - 17513 Wolverine - said that he doesn't want a trail system and if <br />he had wanted one he would have moved somewhere else. <br /> <br />Sue Springer - 8872 - 175th - stated that she is concerned with the traffic and <br />the safety of the childern in the area. <br /> <br />Betty Pearson- 14181 Bowers Drive - stated that she is against the trail <br />~ystem. <br /> <br />Gayle Basit - 8541 - 176th - said that she is opposed to the trails and is <br />concerned with the traffic that will be generated by the proposed parking lot <br />in her neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mr. Schultz - 16060 Nowthen- said that he hopes that City Council takes in to <br />account both sides to this issue before they make their final descisiono <br /> <br />Commissioner Prall said that she is going to ask the City to publish the <br />results of this meeting. <br /> <br />Wayne Davis - 6530 Green Valley - said that he wanted to go on record as being <br />opposed to the trail system. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway suggested that if anyone else has an opinion regarding <br />this issue that he/she should write a letter to the Commission. <br /> <br />The Commission recessed at 8:50. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway called the regular Park and Recreation Commission meeting <br />back to order at 9:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Review proposed Snowmobile Ordinance <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Prall to recommend <br />that the City Council adopt the proposed snowmobile ordinance with the <br />f ol 1 ow ing amendment s: <br /> <br />ll0.014.A.d On trunk highways, county state aid roads or county roads as <br />regulated by the State of Minnesota pursuant to MSA 84.87, which is <br />incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />ll0.014.A.e On City streets only when the such operation is transitory <br />in nature only, and then only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10: 00 <br />O'clock p.m. <br /> <br />ll0.014.A.f Riders may ride on improved City streets in the most right- <br />hand lane then available for traffic or as close as practicable to the <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/August 11, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
