6.0 <br /> <br />MAINTENANCE. <br /> <br />6.01 Municipal Responsibilities. <br /> <br />a. Routine_Cleaning. At the instruction of the plumbing inspector the City <br />shall pump or arrange to have pumped at the City's expense, septic tanks within <br />the City of Ramsey corporate limits. For systems equipped with a distribution <br />and/or dosing box, the owner shall arrange for the opening of the box and re- <br />moval of any settled solids therein at least once a year. At the time of <br />cleaning, the plumbing inspector shall certify that scum and/or sludge levels <br />have been reduced to acceptable levels. <br /> <br />b. Scheduling. The plumbing inspector shall maintain a detailed one month <br />advanced schedule for routine cleaning and inspecting, and a general 24-month <br />advance schedule for inspection. <br /> <br />c. Notification. The plumbing inspector shall notify the owner in writing <br />one month prior to routine inspection and/or cleaning. <br /> <br />6.02 Individual Responsibilities. <br /> <br />a. Access. It shall be the duty of the owner or occupant of the property <br />to maint-t-al~--all-weather access to the system and give free access to the property <br />at reasonable times for the purpose of effecting scheduled maintenance as out- <br />lined in Subsection 6.01. <br /> <br />b. System Repairs. At such time that the owner observes a malfunction of <br />the system, the owner shall immediately notify the plumbing inspector of the <br />problems. Required maintenance shall be arranged for by the owner to maintain <br />proper system operation. <br /> <br />6.03 Costs. <br /> <br />a. Routine Maintenance. Costs incurred for such routine cleaning as referred <br />to in Section 6.01 shall be borne by the City but assessed to the property owner. <br /> <br />b. Non-routine Maintenance. All other costs incurred to maintain system <br />operabil'ity shall be directly absorbed by the owner. <br /> <br />6.04 Disposal. Disposal of tank pumping, box cleaning or other material shall <br />be at agency-approved locations. Distribution box cleanings may be disposed <br />of in the individual disposal system provided the system's operation is not <br />hindered by so doing. <br /> <br />28 <br /> <br /> <br />
