COUNCIL BUSINESS Case #1: 2002 Annual Street Maintenance Program Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:21 p.m. in order to conduct a public bearing. Public Hearing Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 7:21 p.m. Presentation City Engineer Jankowski stated that the public hearing was being held on Improvement Project #02-06 through #02-12 which comprise the 2002 Annual Street Maintenance program. The City has a considerable investment in the 137 miles of bituminous streets for which it is responsible. It was estimated that the replacement costs of the bituminous and street base approach $10 million. The City has established the practice of applying timely preventative maintenance to the pavements to preserve the investment.
