Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Report from Public Works Committee <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, and discussed the following <br />cases: <br /> <br />Water System Update <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that the City Council direct Bolten & Menk <br />to prepare a proposal to update the water supply plan and to include the financial options <br />available to fund an Iron and Manganese treatment plant. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Kurak, Anderson, <br />and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Right of Way Ordinance Fees <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that the City Attorney review the policy, <br />particularly the determination of the time period for release of the bond, and a <br />determination of whether there would be any liability exposure from item 4. Principal <br />Engineer Olson noted that the City Attorney had not had an opportunity to review the <br />information so the issue will be brought back. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Cousider Interim Private Street Policy <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that the City Council adopt the interim <br />private street policy as written to be used as a general guideline until the rewrite of <br />Chapter 9. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #02-03-082 <br />adopting the policy as written as an interim policy to be used as a general guideline until the <br />rewrite of Chapter 9. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the policy was limited to townhome <br />projects, or could single-family subdivisions have 600-foot private drives. Principal Engineer <br />Olson replied that staff would recommend that it pertain to townhome projects. Councilmember <br />Hendriksen inquired if that language was included in the policy. Principal Engineer Olson <br />replied no. Community Development Director Frolik stated that the policy would pertain to <br />townhomes or multiple family developments. <br /> <br />Motion was amended to include language in the policy that private drives are only permitted in <br />townhome and multi-family developments. <br /> <br />City Council/March 26, 2002 <br /> Page 7 of 25 <br /> <br /> <br />
