They algo recommended that Alpine Drive be included ag a full access <br />interchange since the City of Ramsey has spent a significant amount of money to <br />complete an east-west corridor throughout the City and they want its residents to enjoy <br />direct access to the freeway system via Alpine Drive. The Committee recommended that <br />the comments be forwarded to the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />recommendations of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Anderson requested that the issue regarding McKinley <br />Street be more explicit. Principal Engineer Olson agreed that it should be more explicit because <br />the study notes that inter-community travel is very important. Mayor Gamec stated that he had <br />thought that comments were made that inter-community streets were not going to be part of the <br />study. Principal Engineer Olson replied that they had to look at parallel routes for Highway #10 <br />and he thought it would be beneficial that it be noted. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that <br />without the connection of McKinley street it will increase industrial traffic onto Highway #10. <br />Principal Engineer Olson stated that he would reword the language and update the Council on the <br />actual wording. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Hendriksen, <br />Anderson, and Kurak. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />8) <br /> <br />Acquisition of Easements for Trail and Storm Sewer along Alpine Drive <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that the City Council authorize staff to <br />prepare the easement documents and authorize the City Administrator to begin <br />negotiations contingent upon the availability of funds in the appropriate funds. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Zimmerman, <br />Anderson, and Kurak. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Establish Manufacturing Activities <br />in the B-3 Highway Business District; Case of Douglas Roberts <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated that the City has received an application for a <br />conditional use permit fi'om Douglas Roberts to establish manufacturing activities in the B-3 <br />Highway Business District on the property generally known as 6650 State Highway #10. The <br />applicant is proposing to locate in an existing 11,500 square foot office/warehouse structure. The <br />structure was previously occupied by Northern Air Gas. Northern Air Gas is under a lease <br />agreement with Mr. Clarence Jensen for the next 18 months. Northern Air Gas is attempting to <br />lease the building to another user until their lease with Mr. Jensen expires.
