A letter of interest has been received from each of the Commissioners. The City's <br />Policy for Appointing Board and Commission Members grants the Chair and Vice-Chair of the <br />respective board or commission 1.5 votes each during an appointment process. The other <br />members have voted on the question of whether each of the applicants should be reappointed. It <br />was thc recommendation of the Personnel Committee that the City Council reappoint <br />Commissioners Kiefer, Steffen and Riley to the EDA to a term expiring December 31, 2008. <br /> <br />2) Consideration of Resolution Closing City Hall for Holidays <br /> <br />Hulnm~ Resources Manager Reed reviewed that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are paid <br />holidays for City of Ramsey employees. During negotiations for the 2004-2005 labor agreement <br />between the City of Ramsey and AFSCME it was determined that the Christmas holiday would <br />be taken on the following Monday, December 27, 2004 because this year Christmas will fall on a <br />Saturday. Staff is requesting that non-union employees also be granted a paid holiday on <br />Monday, December 27, 2004, which would require the City Council to close City Hall. <br /> <br />City Council/November 23, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
