PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A <br /> PUBLIC WORKS MECHANIC <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In November 2004 the Public Works Mechanic position was advertised and <br />approximately 25 applications were received. Based on the interview panel's review, <br />staff is recommending that Nick Maras be hired for the Public Works Mechanic position. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending Nick Maras for the position of Public Works Mechanic at a wage <br />of $19.02/hr, plus benefits. Mr. Maras's appointment is contingent upon successful <br />completion of criminal background and reference checks and passing a pre-employment <br />physical and drug screen.
